COUNTDOWN!!

As of today, only 70 days until Chris and I tie the knot!! This engagement has been flying by...it is so hard to believe it's already been five months! We have had a lot of fun planning the wedding, and we're trying to enjoy every moment of the engagement period because it will be over before we know it! We've gotten most of our big planning details taken care of already, which will make these final two months a bit more laid back as we wrap up loose ends and finalize plans! I got to try my dress on for the first time today and a wonderful friend, Chantel, did a trial run on my hair for the wedding yesterday. Both are amazing!! It's getting so close and my excitement grows every day!!!

frustration/joy

it seems as though i am physically incapable of completing the next 2 weeks worth of school assignments. i have been staring at a computer screen for upwards of 2 hours trying desperately to motivate myself to do this homework and NOTHING is working. i thought, maybe it's because my apartment thermostat reads 81 degrees, so i put a fan on...nothing. then i thought, maybe i need to eat dinner, had a sandwich...nothing. then i thought, maybe i need to do something enjoyable first, shopped for wedding shoes online, even found some cute ones!! still, not able to work! in 10 very short days i will be completely finished with school for a whole 3 months, and even the anticipation of clearing my mental slate is not enough to force me into this case study. ah! what to do?

in other news, i got to spend the weekend in san diego visiting my family, including my perfectly amazing, brand-new niece whom i love and miss more and more every day, my sweet fiance chris who i am lucky enough to be marrying in 82 short days (wow!), my dearest friend katie and her wonderful boo cameron who left yesterday for costa rica, and i even got to end my trip with an all-together-too-short visit with the one and only julie baker who played me music of the angels on her harpity harp. i am so lucky.

it's here!!

I officially fail at blogging.
I'm not sad though because maybe it means that too many exciting things are happening in real life that I just do not remember to sit down and write about them! Today, for example, I was too busy getting absolutely scorched at the beach, but so worth it! Kate came up to A-town to visit today and we drove out to Seal Beach for a full on beach day. A little weird since we live 3 seconds from the beach at home, but it seemed like a good idea to drive 45 minutes to the closest beach up here. With our $3 sunglasses and $5 hats we had such a spectacular beach day. After driving home with zero traffic (this was a concern, being that it is a holiday AND l.a. sucks) we packed a picnic dinner and walked over to campus with Bre to watch a precious play in the park! How much more summery could you get!? Perfect day. Came home....used 17 liters of Aloe Vera, watched a little Friends, and so thoroughly enjoyed the fact that tomorrow is a PAID DAY OFF!!! Summer is my favorite season.

Spring Break 2010!!

Wahooo!! Spring Break is here! Normally this means a well-deserved, much anticipated break from the daily grind of school. Who knew this break did not apply to grad school students?! I certainly did not, and was quite shocked to discover my class tonight would be filled with the only 16 people on the face of this earth who are not participating in the glory and wonders of Spring Break. However devastating this news may be, I have found a perk. PARKING! My car is currently nestled up against a long, unpainted curb with ample space in front and behind for a convenient and leisurely get away for work in the morning. The multitudes that usually cram themselves into my teeny tiny cul-de-sac have fled the greater Azusa area (duh) and taken with them their too-large-for-one-person vehicles. Thanks guys! Good parking=good day.
